Food is unique and very tasty. Sliders is what I ordered along with the rice and salsa side and I was very pleased. Place has a fun vibe and a unique menu so I will be back.

Awesome fried shrimp slider topped with coleslaw and a side of yella rice and black beans. Quirky local surf shop atmosphere. Nice staff.
(5)Rosana V.
Delicious and it doesn't hurt that hot surfers are coming in and out all day. Only bad thing is that there is only one salad option and the ingredients are limited. If u like sandwiches, though, go for it.
(4)Shashank G.
Went there once - personal experience did NOT live up to the hype. mexican rice - I've had better. sauce/slaw/topping - i've DEFINITELY had better individual meats? -- apparently so ..weird.. don't know how but yes.. so the reviews were about the entire combination? what is the combination - they just put everything together on a *freshly warmed* roll.. there is no flavor to it that's worth complementing. all I gotta say. Good eye candy. and beach crowd comes in.. so that's a plus. but rating on the food? ...meh..
(2)Kate O.
Amazing food, great service!! We will definitely be back. Peruvian sauce is out of this world, bought 2 bottles to bring back to Atlanta with us.

Angie's Grom is the little bro of Angie's subs on Beach blvd. They have a pretty small menu of subs, sliders and a few sides. I love it because it's so close to the beach and it's awesome for the price point. You can walk up from the beach, grab a sandwich with a salad or fries and a 16oz beer for under ten bucks. It's run by a bunch of grungy teens and raggedy 20 somethings who all look like they would rather be surfing than working. They do turn out some killer sandwiches though. As everyone else said, the sandwiches are top notch. The bread has the perfect amount of crunch, while staying melt-in-your-mouth soft inside. The Peruvian is my favorite, which is piled high with all of the meats and topped with cole slaw and a vinaigrette. Pair it with some fries or a field green salad with goat cheese and I am one happy dude. Hard to beat for the price in Jax beach.
(5)Tim W.
The Peruvian is my favorite, but my kids usually get something different and are always happy.

Angie's Grom was a incredibly pleasant surprise when I discovered it on my first time to Jax Beach. I'm a newb to the area but have a fairly limited budget while I'm here so finding something cheap and delicious is fairly hard no matter where I am. All I can say is that my socks were blown off by this little place! It's always a good sign when a place is so crowded that you have to sit with strangers at a table because there are no chairs left. The menu is small and the choices are few but it seems that the sliders are a solid bet. I got my 4 sliders in a nice variety of different flavors. I had my plate loaded up with a Peruvian, a pulled pork, a blondie and a smoked chix. All were mouth-wateringly delicious! The sauce that they have sitting at the tables (I have no clue what it is) is perfect for adding a bit of spice to any of the sandwiches. The food took a lot longer than I expected for it to arrive but my wait was rewarded with immense amounts of oral pleasure! Your sliders come with a free side and I opted for the beans and rice. Although this combination left me a bit gassy while lounging at the beach, it was well worth the suffering that other people would have to endure as it was gloriously good - especially when drenched in the same spicy sauce I mentioned before. Other people have mentioned that the Grom is staffed by teeny-boppers - which is true - but I found them to be sufficiently friendly and added to the energy of the place while they brought you your food in their beachwear. The dining room is cozy, if a bit tight. As I already mentioned, the place was packed but people seemed okay with others joining them at their tables. The area was filled with people in various levels of undress which allowed for good people-watching. I recommend sunglasses if you have a genetic condition that causes your eyes to wander (of course, my wife knows that I wouldn't do that... I'm just passing on the recommendation). I would highly recommend the Grom to anyone visiting the area!

Burritos were awesome. Homey taters, excellent. This is a neat place with lots of character and the food is delish.
(5)Chris S.
First time at the Grom. The fridge was bare so I ran out for lunch. I made a last second decision to try this place. I didn't want just another boring sandwich. Wow! I got the dirty Grom and fries. It was really tasty and a little unique. The sauces at the table added a little zing and were great on the nice hot fries. I will definitely be back.
(4)Riley B.
The food at Angie's Grom is pretty good, but they have some weird policies there. As anybody who has been there knows, the chicken from the sliders is awesome. One day I didn't feel like eating a ton of bread, so I ordered the chicken tenders, as the buns are nothing special while the chicken is. Instead of the great slider chicken, they were terrible, straight out of the freezer tenders. Next time I went in, I asked if I could just buy a few pieces of the slider chicken, and they said no. Not really a huge deal, it's just kind of weird. If I am not going to eat the bun, I don't want to have to pay for it. Otherwise, this place is pretty tight, and the kitschy aspect of it is fun.
(3)Cameron D.
I'm really high on the Grom despite not being a huge fan of Angie's proper. Now, Angie's is a great place to get a rich, greasy sub, but there's a sub place every 12 feet along Jax Beach, and you won't feel particularly chipper after downing a Jack Del Rio Grande (turkey, roast beef, bacon, provolone, mushrooms, bar-b-q fritos, spicy ranch). Yum/ugh! However: the Grom offers two items I love: the sliders, and the salad. Their sliders are a perfect way to experience an assortment of sub varieties in less overwhelming quantities - I usually get 3 or 4 sliders, which runs about the same as a sub price-wise (6-7 bucks) but keeps you from getting burned out on any one flavor. It's amazing that there is a Krystal a couple of blocks away offering essentially the exact same format of sandwich at a tenth of the quality. Also, the side salad is far better than it probably needs to be - instead of iceberg lettuce, it's a nice spring mix with some sort of vinaigrette, along with tomatoes and feta cheese. A great way to make yourself feel just a little better after downing 4 sliders because you were going to order 3 but hey, why not add a fourth? The Grom also offers burritos and such, but I haven't weaned myself off of the sliders to try one yet. One last tip: be prepared to wait a little for your lunch during the school year because a bunch of students call in their order.
(5)Virginia M.
I love this spot! I had the Peruvian slider and a BLT slider. Both were delicious. I also enjoyed their side house salad. This is a great spot for a causal lunch, I would return!
(4)Lauren M.
I had the Dirty Grom - roast beef, turkey, bacon, provolone, mushrooms, homemade slaw and PERUVIAN SAUCE. Peru sauce is this incredible honey mustard based magical substance that I need to buy a bottle of for cooking at home. I needed a lunch spot close to the beach so I wouldn't have to give up my parking spot. And there it was, right across the street from the beach.Very cool Cali surfer vibe hole in the wall with a random assortment of large kitchen tables and chairs. Great sandwich spot for a quick lunch by the beach. Try it out when you want to skip the over priced beach restaurants.
(5)Emily D.
Love this place. Hate the crowds at Metro and other breakfast joints. The Grom has terrific food and there's always a spot.
(5)Dena A.
As good as it gets! A fresh and exciting alternative to typical eateries at the beach. I never tire of this creative menu. BONUS: I can ride my bike into The Grom right off the sand. The ice tea is fresh brewed and that goes a long way with me. Thanks for an outstanding choice in Jax Bch. (Would you consider staying open later in the spring/summer months?)
(5)Karen E.
Love the subs!! They're da bomb-diggity!
(5)Mark B.
You can always count on Angie's for a descend sandwich. Today was no different at the Grom. Angie's little sister that seems to be getting bigger all the time. After a lousy meal down the street at Zeta's I ended up here. I ordered the Cuban but the young lady behind the counter informed me. Our Cuban is different. It doesn't have mustard or pickles and is not pressed. It has mayo and comes on a sub roll. So it's not a Cuban at all it's a ham and pork sub, then. Then she hit me with what side do you want? Hum side you get a side at Angie's. So black beans and rice, chips, or fries???? OK black beans that's safe. Let me tell you the black beans and rice are quite yummy. So the side was good the ham & pork sandwich was ok. Not the Cuban I wanted but it was OK. Not a good food day but I still have dinner and I'm cooking that.
(4)Kelly W.
The Peruvian sandwich was the favorite in our group, but everything was delicious. Mojo sliders, shrimp sliders, pork burrito and beans and rice. If you are hungry for sandwich at Jax Beach, this is the place. We walked from the beach in our swimsuits!
(5)C J.
Angie's Grom always delivers! Heck the beer is cheaper than the tea! My go tos are the mojo and Cuban. The Peruvian sauce makes everything tasty. The side salad is fresh and is acceptable aide in lieu of fries.
(5)Lin G.
Most people don't associate deliciously hot juicy sandwiches with groms (supposedly lil surfer dudes with hot moms... okay). But whatever it is they're doing, they need to keep doing it because the sandwiches are absolutely amazing. If I were wearing socks, they'd have been blow off faster than panties in a milf porn. All this for $7? Now that's money well spent.
(5)Frank M.
Awesome place for lunch. The sliders are delicious and the staff are friendly. 5 people ate and had drinks for $50. Can't beat the price for quality and taste.
(5)Brian D.
Found this place using Yelp, and what's great find. The sandwiches are great and the Peruvian sauce is awesome! Friendly staff at this beach side dive. They also had $1 beers....BONUS!
(4)Dani V.
Grom, you are much cooler than your older sister. Everything on this menu is so yummy, the bread is much better than Angie's and so are all the sliders and sandwiches in general. Pour the Peruvian sauce all over everything and the spicy Peruvian sauce all your fries. Perfect snack for a day after the beach!
(4)Brian G.
CUSTOMER SERVICE ALERT (but in a good way)! My wife went to pick up some sliders to go for us this afternoon...got back to the office and realized that we were accidentally shorted one. She called in the hopes of maybe getting the missing slider at a later date. Not only did Taylor B. deliver TWO more sliders to our office, but she included a cookie and a gift card AS WELL! Truly above and beyond! Thanks guys. Also, Lindsay is now obsessed with the bangin' shrimp slider and considering re-naming our expected first child, Taylor B.
(5)Ashley M.
Out partying on the beach and want the same great sub as Angie's? Head over to Angie's little kid, Grom. I've been going here since it opened. My friend and I would skip class and come grab lunch here about 3 times a week. The staff is a small group of just really chill beach kids. The decor is amusing. If you get bored with the person you are with your eyes can easily be distracted by everything in the place. There is a lot of sarcasm and beach themes. It's perfect for a very relaxed vibe. The management is pretty rad. My order got pretty messed up one time and the second I told the girl at the counter she had them whip up another sandwich and apologized. That was better then some high dollar restaurants I have been to. To keep people coming back you have to have a great management team and this place definitely has it.
(5)B M.
Just Plain Good!!
(5)Sergei K.
Best place to quickly get lunch at the beach! Go classic with Peruvian sandwich, or try the loaded MoJo- pulled pork, ham, BBQ Fritos, and more- it's the way to go!
(5)Sean E.
Moving to Jacksonville Beach (from Detroit) earlier this year was great. Our local friends informed us of all the hot spots and we couldn't be more excited to try them all, since my girlfriend and I are serious foodies. The original Angie's Subs (on Beach Blvd) is great. That's a no brainer. But Angie's Grom is their offspring. The location right next to the beach that has a little bit more adventurous of a menu, with burritos and chips/salsa, rather than just subs. And I have to say, I love the Grom location even more. The vibe is pretty beachy and youthful, which is fun for us Northerners who were amped to move down to the Florida sun. After ordering, you take a seat and relax until your food is brought to you. The place is decorated in a really interesting, fun way, so the atmosphere is neat. I always tend to order a burrito or their classic sub with chilli cheese Fritos ON IT. I use a whole boat load of spicy Peruvian sauce, because honestly, it's one of the best condiments on the planet. Like most of the places at Jax Beach, you're not in and out in 2 minutes. The mindset is to show up, take your team to eat and enjoy good company, even if it's for an hour lunch break during your work day. I love that vibe here. We need more of it across the country! It's not all about scarfing down food and moving on to something else. Eat slow, enjoy the food that was lovingly prepared for you and converse with the person sitting across from you. Life's too short :) The Grom is great and has instilled this in my head! Oh, and grab an ice-cold PBR too.
(4)Joseph A.
Just finished of a crunchy Peruvian w/fries. My mouth couldn't be happier!
(4)Erika S.
delicious!
(4)Rosie G.
Despite being in and out of the restroom a dozen times after Angie's Volcano burrito- I still give it 5 starts. It was big, saucy, delicious and even pretty to look at. Also, could have easily served as breakfast for 2. The service was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere had that cool, chill beach vibe. The playlist going consisted of The Beatles and Led Zep- Score! Even a little TV in the corner where kiddos can watch Disney movies while they nosh. Side note: Angie's bathroom was clean and streaming some great talk radio.
(5)W R.
Chill spot! Stopped here after leaving the beach and had the mouth watering shrimp & chicken wrap with yellow rice & black beans. Oh I dipped my wrap in this sweet but mildly spicy sauce that was on the table, really good. Service was the run of mill but the food & pricing were good so I do see myself revisiting. Try it out & ENJOY!
(4)Tracy D.
For someone that's gluten-free, this place was a real disappointment. The only choices are two salads. There are tortilla based items, but no corn option, and every other item is a sandwich. I was excited to try a place with such high ratings, but really disappointed that with as many people as are gluten-free today, there is nothing offered that caters to those diners. It seems like a really fun and energetic place, if only I could eat something.
(2)Lilly C.
There are a few times when a sandwich place is a place that you tell your friends about. This place is delicious and a great local Jacksonville beach spot. My favorite is the Peruvian sandwich with a side salad. The side salad here is amazing! It's same Peruvian from Angie's sub without the crazy lines. I love going for lunch and being able to order when I walk in. Unlike at Angie's were you wait a while for your sandwich. The staff is always nice and there is always somewhere to sit. They have sliders and French fries which are also worth a try! I'm a huge fan of this place for lunch and can't wait to try their breakfast!!
(5)Kathy T.
Wow this is the bomb!! Our first time here today and we are already planning our trip back. Sarah who took our order was so friendly and helpful. I had a burrito that had fries in it. What. Yes that is correct. Sooo good. Tasted my husband's sandwich, a sub made with some kind of miracle bread. Toasted with the perfect crunch. I've tasted t h e Peruvian sauce at their other restaurant and it is very good. But, there was another sauce on the table and it is definitely my favorite. Flavor with just a little kick!! I just wish I had taken a photo.
(5)Tiffany P.
We were looking for a place to grab a quick bite off A1A in Jax Beach. Angie's Grom was the perfect choice- order at the counter and your lunch is brought right out. Beach bum meets eclectic redneck decor spatters the walls. Young kids man the counter, all in good spirits. We ordered a few sliders (+side salad) and one of the sandwiches with BBQ Fritos on it (+rice and beans). Sliders were awesome on the Hawaiian rolls, loved the shrimp. Salad was Italian dressing with feta and tomatoes. Sandwich was pressed warm and meaty. Yellow rice and beans were great with green onions and sour cream. Very fair price! Will stop again when passing through!
(5)Nate V.
The cons: 1. Price is always going to be north of ten bucks. 2. Guaranteed bathroom visit, every time. The pros: None of the cons keep me from going back repeatedly. They might charge you, but at least you get a cup that's so big it won't fit in your cup holder, and a meal that leaves you stuffed. Also, Peruvian sauce. Yes.
(4)Jen K.
I took my in-laws here on their visit from Michigan, and we all loved it. The food came out hot, and we all scarfed it down. The vibe of the place is just right for the local beach joint that it is. We sat in a little corner where there was an old-school tv and a bunch of vhs tapes. My three-year-old was in heaven because he got to eat and watch 101 Dalmations. Fun times. Nice people working there--they seemed genuinely happy to be there. I got the pulled pork slider, and it was delicious. The fries were a bit salty, but I can live with that. My son loved the rice and beans. All in all a great experience.
(5)Kiran R.
Fun, beachy, Jacksonville's version of a boardwalk mexican cantina. We enjoyed it. They also have a nice draft beer.
(4)Rafael E.
Delicious!!! Had the Fland's Favorite breakfast and the Peruvian sub. Was so good that we came back the next morning for repeats.
(5)Donald R.
Angie's Grom offers a lot of the same things that they offer Angie's subs but they have burritos and sliders plus they have an awesome breakfast and brunch on the weekend with bottomless mimosas. Everything is very good here I would recommend the chicken and waffles, flans favorite or any of the burritos breakfast or lunch and make them wet.
(5)Scott W.
I am in town for 2 days and look on yelp for a good breakfast burrito. Seeing this place, I had to come give it a try. I walked in, I was the only person there other than the owner and the staff. The cashier explained the menu to me and was very friendly. I ordered the volcano, one of their normal daytime smothered burritos with egg, sausage, rice, salsa, etc. When it showed up, I was pleasantly surprised. It looked awesome (see picture). It was covered in a smokey red sauce that was delicious. BEST BREAKFAST BURRITO EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI. The tea (mix of sweet and regular) was just as good. I will be back on my way out of town tomorrow for lunch. This place should be packed all the time!
(5)Trinh N.
Best chicken tender slider ever!!!!!!! And sweet tea lol I love their sweet tea. Great food and they're quick too! I always order ahead and they never mess up my food.
(5)Kelly M.
This was our first time at Angie's Grom, but definitely not our last. We had a 3 slider meal, with a side. The Peruvian, Blondie, and Fried Shrimp. I liked different aspects of each slider. Our side was chips and salsa. The salsa was chunky and sweet. Really great.
(4)Rory D.
Just tried takeout from there. A little pricey for sliders, ice tea & such, but quality was good. The smoked chicken slider was decent, but the pulled pork slider & fried chicken sliders were better. Best item of all was the side of black beans & yellow rice, definitely comparable to Pollo Tropical & other local places. The small spring mix salad was nice with crumbled feta. I plan to go back to try more.
(3)Brian A.
THE GROM BRAHHHHHH! One of my favorite little spots at the beach. Nestled in a plaza that's easier to pass than find, you'll be immersed in what makes a "beachy" spot. You'll probably notice that no one working here looks a day over 18. Next, you'll notice that nothing on their walls makes sense, almost like a gang of teenagers decorated it. Don't let it fool you. They take the food serious. The sandwich selection is pretty similar to the parent restaurant, Angie's. Where they shine is the sliders. I've never been a huge fan of ordering 3-4 small sandwiches instead of just one. They may have changed my opinion on the subject. You can get all sorts here. My personal favorite is the Blondie, which has fried shrimp on it. I should mention that my room mate swears by the Lt. Dan sandwich, which isn't on the menu, as far as I know. I'm not even really certain whats on it. But like I said, it's worth asking about if you're in the mood for something different.
(4)Tara C.
Yummy! I tried three of the sliders and they were delicious. I got rice and beans as a side and it was great too! My boyfriend and I were starving and decided to come here and we were so glad we did. Will definitely be back to try more of their sliders. We loved all the sauces on the table too.
(5)Ron Erika H.
Amazing friendly staff! DELICIOUS breakfast. Must try the spinach feta burrito! Grits are so creamy and full of good stuff! Must see and eat here! Even the bathroom is awesome!!
(5)Dan C.
I'm a local who works half a mile away from the Grom. The Grom is the bomb. Nicely priced and good food. I'm of the healthy sort so I always order the Smoked Chx Burrito with the side salad. You wouldn't expect a place like this to have a nice side salad, but you'd be wrong. It is a fave among the locals...the young surfer type to the middle aged professional and everything in between.
(5)Chris W.
Have eaten here several times and it is always delicious! Just had our first breakfast, and it did not disappoint! Breakfast special was french toast stuffed with strawberries and cream cheese-yum! The boring plate (bacon, eggs, & grits) was also delish.
(5)Robert T.
Shoot me now!!! They now serve breakfast and make the BEST hash browns you have ever eaten! 1st it's go to lunch place now it's go to breakfast!
(5)Dave S.
One of the best kept secrets at the beach. Excellent food & value in a low-profile, non-tourist setting that's east of 3rd street. Angie's type atmosphere but the food is much better than Angie's (in my opinion). More than just hot subs! Excellent pulled chicken. Excellent side of beans & rice. Angie's style Peruvian sauce and monster size drink cups. Eclectic Angie's type surfer decor.
(4)Mike F.
Great little spot for a quick lunch in Jax Beach. I had the 3 slider combo with a slide. The Peruvian slider was amazing! I will definitely dine again at the Grom if I was in the area.
(5)Mark D.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Will be a staple for my visits to Jax.
(5)Matthew H.
Great sandwiches - really well done. Angies Part 2.. Thanks for giving us another option even closer to the beach!
(5)Katie C.
I'm down with the Grom! Although the original Angie's will always hold a special place in my heart, I definitely appreciate the differences in little Grom's menu, service and atmosphere. Located on 3rd Ave S in the old Bravo Burrito (which closed after a relatively widespread food poisoning of patrons) Angie's Grom is super clean, professional, and yummy. They offer up some similarities, like my favorite the Peruvian sandwich, but they mix it up by presenting their sammies in slider form. I usually go for two, one Peruvian and one BBQ Pork. (If you read my reviews, you know how I feel about the piggy meat!) Unlike Angies, they offer a selection of sides like french fries, black beans and rice, and an unexpectedly nice side salad of spinach, tomatoes, and feta cheese. They also offer burritos and other fare, but I seriously love these little sliders! They're always hot, melty, and sauced up just right. If you require more moisture, you'll find the standard bottles of Peruvian here just like Angie's proper. (My favorite!) And yes, they also have the oh, so bizarre napkin holder stories. One of my the most memorable attributes of Angie's. Oh, and in case you're unfamiliar with "bro" speak, a grom is a young surfer, just a little guy. In this spirit, the Grom is doing a fine job carrying on the legacy of it's big sister restaurant Angie's!
(4)Nick C.
Sure I can walk here, which makes me biased, but the sliders are so dang good. Blondie and Peruvian with black beans and rice... I could live off this meal every day!
(5)Cristina V.
LOOOVE Angie's Grom. I went for the first time about a month ago, been back I'd say.... 3 other times? 4? If you love Angie's Subs, you'll love the Grom. Same friendly, causal atmosphere and fun-loving, mismatched decor... only difference is the size of the sandwiches (mini sandwiches = sliders) and more sides to choose from, including fries, rice and beans, chips and salsa, salad, etc. They have a mini version of the Peruvian which is served on a roll that looks like it's been toasted and buttered and tastes delicious... but they've also got some great other sandwiches like Grom Grom shrimp and the Blondie. Prices are cheap too... you should definitely stop by for lunch if you're in Jax Beach!
(5)Edward S.
Side salad is great (get it over the fries). Mary Jane wrap is dank. Burritos are also excellent. Beans and rice w burrito are good but side salad even better. Assortment is sliders is awesome.
(5)John S.
A spin-off of the original Angie's on Beach Blvd the Grom offers a similar selection of sandwiches and dishes with some new items sure to became favorites: black beans and yellow rice, sliders, Gromwiches, and french fries.
(4)Tony T.
Live down the road from this place. Better menu selection that original angies but im not digging the cole slaw on the subs.
(3)
